IAN WARNER

Founder

Ian Warner is the founder of Urban Theologians. He leads a college ministry in Des Moines, IA, and was formerly the Community Pastor at Cottage Grove Church. Ian is married with four young children. When he has downtime, he enjoys playing video games with his kids. Ian was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, and came to the USA on a track scholarship to Iowa State University. At Iowa State, he was an All-American and represented Canada at the 2012 Olympic Games. Ian developed a heart for urban ministry growing up in one of the world’s most diverse cities. Ian will plant a church through the Salt Network in Kansas City in 2026. 

MALLORY McQUEEN

Chief Editor

Mallory is the chief editor of Urban Theologians. After being born and raised in a small town in Northwest Iowa, she moved to Des Moines to attend Drake University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in politics, history, and Spanish. She also graduated from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters of Theological Studies degree in 2023. She has served on staff with the Salt Company, a college ministry of Cottage Grove Church, for the past four years. When she’s not spending time with college students or working behind the scenes of Urban Theologians, she spends her time reading, thrifting, and laughing with her friends and family.
